Meet Me on Monday

Five questions that I will answer to help you get to know me better

1. What is your favorite type of candy?  I love salted licorice (and have passed this onto my son) but at this time of year I love Kerr's Halloween kisses. Oh and frozen mars bars and rockets make the list too..Ahh candy too bad that my teeth are now so sensitive to sweet stuff.....

2. Are you crafty? Yes.  I like to scrapbook and am currently trying to finish a hand embroidered blanket for my daughter for Christmas. She was supposed to receive it last year for her birthday (and then for Christmas) and so far I have not worked on it in over a month. I enjoy doing fun crafts with the kids too and usually take them each Sunday to Family Art Day at the local Art Gallery. If When I get the blanket done I will be sure to post a picture. This year...right!

3. Do you like to read? Yes, I love to read. I don't read as much as I used to, but as a teenager my nose was always in a book. I am currently reading Shelter Me by Juliette Fay and just finished Save Me by Lisa Scotoline. Save Me was a very powerful book. I would like to read The Help but will need to take a break to finish the blanket mentioned above.

4. Do you have a Shopping Addiction? I don't buy lots of shoes (pretty much wear whatever is comfy-which I have discovered is my Keen Sandals so think I will leave them at work to wear indoors during winter). I am not big on jewelry, accessories etc. I like to look nice but wear lots of comfy stuff when come home from work or on weekends I guess my addiction weakness would be buying stuff for my kids, likes games, toys, etc. I already have their stocking items bought and a few presents too! K loves books, My Little Ponies and her dollies (it looks like an orphanage in our living room...N likes books too and Beyblades as well as Star Wars. They both love Thomas the Train and Lego.

5. Do you like to cook or bake? Yes, to both. I love to cook experiment as my husband refers to it by trying out new and different recipes and flavors. I find it a release from stress and love creating things plus I LOVE to eat, so works well together. However, my husband is a meat and potatoes type person so is not very adventuresome but sucks it up since I cook. N goes along with whatever J says about one of my "creations" so he pretends so N will eat it. And yes, I love baking too, which appeals more to J especially, hence why I have to hide some of it or it would be gone right away. He has learned to always ask first before eating, to see if it is actually for work.

Speaking of work, we are having a  bake sale to support the United Way this week, so already made Banana Bread and will be making potato chips dipped in chocolate with sprinkles (pictures will come) and possibly apple muffins. The Banana Bread and Muffins are tried and true recipes (and super yummy) but the chips will be an experiment....
